01 The Brief

Match My Venue was approached to source a venue for an exclusive afterparty taking place alongside The London Coffee Festival.

The client required a venue within walking distance of The Truman Brewery that could accommodate 100 guests for an evening celebrating Ugandan coffee, culture and hospitality.

Key requirements included:

  • Venue within five minutes of The Truman Brewery

  • Three distinct event zones

  • Coffee cupping and tasting experiences

  • Networking space with food, drinks and entertainment

  • Capacity for multiple commercial coffee machines

  • Flexible supplier policies

  • Modern, design-led environment

The event needed to showcase authentic Ugandan culture while creating a memorable experience for industry professionals, buyers and guests attending the festival.

02 Our Approach

With only one month until the event, speed and venue suitability were critical.

The brief required more than simply finding a space close to The Truman Brewery. The venue needed to support significant power requirements, accommodate specialist coffee equipment and provide three connected yet distinct areas for different event experiences.

Our venue search focused on:

  • Location and accessibility

  • Technical capability and power supply

  • Layout flexibility

  • Supplier access and logistics

  • Brand alignment and guest experience

Following an extensive search across East London, we identified a venue that perfectly balanced operational requirements with the creative vision for the event.

03 Our Role

The event was hosted at Second Home Spitalfields, a unique design-led venue located just minutes from The Truman Brewery.

The venue allowed the event to be divided into three immersive zones:

  • Coffee cupping experiences

  • Espresso tasting stations

  • Networking, food and entertainment space

Alongside authentic Ugandan catering and speciality coffee experiences, guests enjoyed live entertainment and cultural elements designed to celebrate Uganda's growing reputation within the global coffee industry.

The event management and on-site delivery were provided by The Events Consultant, working alongside a carefully selected team of specialist suppliers.

04 The Event

Match My Venue acted as the venue finding and supplier sourcing partner for the project.

Our support included:

  • Venue sourcing and shortlisting

  • Venue negotiations and contracting

  • Site visits and venue selection support

  • Supplier recommendations and introductions

  • Catering and production sourcing

  • Technical feasibility reviews

  • Full Event Management

  • Budget and supplier coordination support

Working closely with the client to deliver the event, we helped assemble a trusted supplier network capable of bringing the event concept to life.

05 The Outcome

The event was a significant success, receiving outstanding feedback from attendees, stakeholders and industry representatives.

Guests praised the authenticity of the experience, the quality of the food and coffee, and the seamless integration of cultural storytelling throughout the event.

The High Commissioner of Uganda described the event as a "true taste of home", recognising the attention to detail and commitment to showcasing Ugandan culture authentically.

The success of the event strengthened relationships across all parties involved and reinforced the value of combining specialist venue knowledge with carefully curated supplier partnerships.
