About Venue

Located on the waterfront in the heart of Brixham Harbour, Brixham Laboratory is one of South Devon’s most unique contemporary event venues, combining striking industrial architecture, creative studio space and panoramic coastal views within a restored former fish market laboratory building. Positioned directly on the harbour edge overlooking the working fishing port, the venue delivers a highly distinctive setting for conferences, networking events, private dining, creative gatherings and cultural experiences.

Originally built as part of Brixham’s historic fishing industry infrastructure, the building has been carefully transformed into a modern multi-purpose venue while retaining much of its industrial maritime character. Exposed steelwork, large windows, open-plan interiors and harbour-facing spaces create an atmosphere that feels creative, relaxed and entirely different from traditional corporate venues or hotels.

The Main Laboratory Space

Brixham Laboratory is located at Freshwater Quarry on the south-east edge of Brixham, overlooking Tor Bay and just a short drive from the town centre. Occupying a unique coastal setting, the venue offers a peaceful and inspiring environment for meetings, conferences and business events while remaining easily accessible from across Devon and the South West.

The venue is approximately 45 minutes by taxi from Newton Abbot railway station and around one hour from Exeter Airport, with straightforward road access via the A380 and Torbay road network. On-site parking is available for delegates and visitors, while supplier access and event logistics can be arranged in advance with the venue team. The building also benefits from step-free access, making it suitable for a wide range of corporate events and business meetings.
