About Venue

The Library of Birmingham is one of the city's most distinctive conference and events venues, occupying a landmark contemporary building overlooking Centenary Square. Separate from the adjoining Birmingham Rep, the Library offers an unusual collection of event spaces ranging from a 292-seat Studio Theatre and dedicated meeting rooms to the spectacular Book Rotunda, Library Feature Space and outdoor terraces.

The venue works particularly well for conferences, meetings, awards dinners, gala events, receptions, exhibitions and private celebrations. Its largest event space can accommodate up to 1,000 guests for a reception or 550 for dinner, while integrated AV, technical support, WiFi and in-house event management support corporate events of varying scales.

Why Hire

The Library of Birmingham provides event organisers with spaces that simply don't feel like conventional conference facilities. Large corporate dinners and receptions can take place against the building's distinctive architecture, while the Book Rotunda allows guests to dine and network surrounded by the Library's collection.

The combination of a 292-seat Studio Theatre, dedicated meeting rooms, 1,000-person Feature Space and outdoor terraces also means the Library works as a practical multi-space conference venue rather than simply an unusual evening-events location.
