The Whitworth is one of Manchester's most distinctive venues, combining an internationally renowned art gallery with award-winning contemporary architecture and beautiful parkland surroundings. Located within Whitworth Park and part of The University of Manchester, the venue offers an inspiring setting for conferences, meetings, private dining, weddings, receptions and exclusive corporate events.

Following its award-winning redevelopment, The Whitworth seamlessly blends its historic Victorian gallery with a striking modern extension, creating a collection of elegant event spaces overlooking the park. Spaces can be hired individually or combined for events that flow from daytime conferences through to evening receptions and private dinners.

Event Spaces

Grand Hall

The venue's flagship event space featuring a beautifully restored double-height Jacobean-style hall accommodating up to 200 guests. Ideal for conferences, awards dinners, wedding receptions, gala events and corporate celebrations.

Café in the Trees

A stunning glass-fronted event space overlooking Whitworth Park, accommodating up to 110 guests for receptions or 96 for dining. Perfect for networking events, private dining, celebrations and client entertaining in a unique woodland setting.

Gallery 3

A contemporary gallery space filled with natural daylight overlooking the park. Accommodating up to 200 standing, 120 theatre or 120 cabaret, it provides an exceptional setting for conferences, presentations, receptions, ceremonies and private dinners.

Upper Promenade

An elegant gallery space connecting the venue's principal event areas. Ideal for drinks receptions, exhibition space, networking and catering during larger events.

Meeting Room

A private meeting space designed for board meetings, interviews, workshops and smaller corporate events, complete with integrated presentation facilities.
