Southwark Cathedral
Southwark Cathedral is a landmark historic venue beside London Bridge and Borough Market, offering an extraordinary setting for corporate events, receptions, dinners, conferences, concerts and private occasions. The site has around 1,000 years of history, evolving from a convent and monastery through to becoming a cathedral in 1905.
Today, the Cathedral offers eight versatile event spaces plus two outdoor areas, with capacities ranging from intimate six-person meetings through to receptions for 800 guests. The collection includes the spectacular Nave and medieval Retro Choir alongside dedicated conference rooms, the Garry Weston Library and outdoor spaces overlooking the surrounding London Bridge area.
The venue primarily caters to corporate and charity events, with an experienced events team supporting receptions, conferences, dinners, concerts, summer parties, filming and photography.

Facilities and Services
The Cathedral's conference spaces provide free WiFi, step-free access and conference-call facilities. Selected rooms offer LED screens, PA systems, handheld and lapel microphones, live streaming and audio facilities.
Catering is provided through the Cathedral's catering partner, Comptoir Gourmand, rather than clients bringing their own food and drink. There is no dedicated onsite car park

Why Hire
Southwark Cathedral provides the kind of setting that cannot easily be recreated in a conventional event venue. The Nave in particular offers significant scale while retaining the architectural character of a historic cathedral, making it especially strong for gala dinners, awards, major receptions, performances and events where the venue itself needs to make an impact.
It is also more versatile than its historic appearance might suggest. Dedicated conference rooms support meetings and breakout sessions, while the Library provides an alternative character space and the Churchyard and Millennium Courtyard add genuine outdoor event options.
