The Midland Unveils Refreshed Meeting and Event Spaces in Manchester

The Midland has unveiled its elevated meeting and event offering in the heart of Manchester, showcasing refreshed spaces designed for conferences, dinners, awards and corporate events.

One of Manchester’s best-known hotels, The Midland is building on more than a century of hospitality with a flexible collection of meeting and event spaces capable of accommodating everything from smaller business meetings to large-scale conferences and celebrations.

At the centre of the offering is the recently refurbished Alexandra Suite, the hotel’s largest event space. Located on the ground floor, the suite can accommodate up to 700 guests for a standing reception, 650 in theatre style and 500 for a banquet.

The Alexandra Suite also benefits from its own entrance and private bar, alongside audiovisual facilities including HD projection, speakers and LCD screens. Air conditioning and adjustable lighting allow the room to be adapted for conferences, gala dinners, charity events, awards ceremonies and black-tie occasions.

The Trafford Suite provides another option for mid-sized events, accommodating up to 300 guests for a reception. Overlooking St Peter’s Square, the room combines original architectural character with a flexible event layout, featuring tall arched windows, decorative plasterwork and a central chandelier.

The hotel's events offering also includes Events by Adam Reid, combining private hire with menus created by chef Adam Reid. Designed for corporate entertaining, private dining and food-led events, the space can accommodate up to 80 seated guests or 150 for a standing reception.

The Midland has a particularly notable connection with Manchester's business history. Charles Rolls and Henry Royce first met at the hotel in 1904, a meeting which ultimately led to the formation of Rolls-Royce.

Alongside its event facilities, The Midland offers 312 bedrooms and suites, the Rena Spa and a selection of restaurants and dining spaces, allowing the hotel to cater for residential conferences and multi-day events as well as standalone functions.

Located in Manchester city centre, close to Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly stations, the hotel remains particularly well positioned for events bringing together delegates from across the UK.

The refreshed offering strengthens The Midland's position within Manchester's meetings and events market, combining the heritage of one of the city's most recognisable hotels with flexible spaces for contemporary corporate and private events.
