BAFTA 195 Piccadilly
BAFTA 195 Piccadilly is the iconic London headquarters of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and a distinctive private-hire venue in the heart of the West End. The Grade II-listed building combines BAFTA’s screen heritage with contemporary event spaces and extensive integrated technology following its major redevelopment.
Across the building are nine principal hire spaces, ranging from two purpose-built cinemas and intimate boardrooms to galleries, reception spaces and the flagship Ray Dolby Room. The venue is particularly strong for conferences, screenings, awards ceremonies, dinners, launches, receptions and creative industry events. BAFTA also offers limited whole-building hire, with its venue brochure quoting capacity for up to 980 standing across the property.
Technology is a major part of the offer, including Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, projection mapping, integrated AV, professional cinema projection, digital recording and video-conferencing facilities. Catering is provided in-house, with menus overseen by BAFTA 195’s Executive Chef.

BAFTA 195 Piccadilly offers an unusually comprehensive in-house technical operation, with professional cinema projection, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, integrated presentation technology, projection mapping, microphones, staging, digital displays, video conferencing and recording capabilities available across relevant spaces.
Food and drink is provided in-house, with full catering, light refreshments and canapé receptions available. Menus focus on seasonal British produce alongside international influences, with drinks packages also available.
The building has been designed with accessibility in mind. The main entrance is step-free with automatic doors, lifts serve the principal event floors, accessible bathrooms are provided from the first to fourth floors, and wheelchair spaces are available in both theatres. The Rooftop Terrace is the notable exception, requiring stair access.

Why Hire
BAFTA 195 Piccadilly is particularly strong for events where content, presentation and production quality matter. Unlike many heritage venues where AV has effectively been added afterwards, technology forms an integral part of the building. The Princess Anne Theatre offers a genuine professional cinema and auditorium experience, while the Ray Dolby Room can handle conferences, dinners and immersive events with extensive projection and sound capabilities.
There is also considerable flexibility across the building. A screening or conference can be combined with receptions in the Reuben Gallery, breakout sessions within the Creative & Future Galleries and smaller meetings in the Kenworthy Room or David Lean Boardroom. Limited whole-building hire increases that flexibility further for major events.
The BAFTA association gives the venue an identity that is difficult to replicate elsewhere. For film, television, gaming, media and creative-sector events in particular, the setting becomes part of the experience rather than simply providing the room.
