The Royal Ballet School - Covent Garden
The Royal Ballet School's Upper School offers a distinctive collection of performance and studio spaces for hire in the heart of Covent Garden. Located at 46 Floral Street opposite the Royal Opera House, the building is home to the School's senior students and is connected to the Royal Opera House by the landmark Bridge of Aspiration.
Five purpose-built studios are currently available for external hire: Linden Studio, Dowell Sibley Studio, De Valois Studio, Princess Margaret Studio and MacMillan Studio. The spaces are designed primarily for professional dance training but are also explicitly marketed for theatre rehearsals, performances, corporate events and functions. Each features a sprung floor, mirrored walls, smart board and ballet barres, while technical assistance and catering can be added to a hire.
The largest spaces have an approximate capacity of 300, while the Linden Studio transforms into a studio theatre with retractable seating for 180.

Facilities and Services
All five studios have sprung floors, mirrored walls, smart boards and wall-mounted and freestanding ballet barres. The current booking system also shows extensive audio/video infrastructure in the principal studios, including Dante audio connectivity, professional speakers, microphones, cameras and streaming capability.
Front-of-house support is included with venue hire, while catering and technical assistance can be arranged additionally. As this remains a working ballet school, standard external hire availability is currently 19:00–21:00 Monday to Friday and 09:00–17:00 on Sundays.

Why Hire
The Royal Ballet School offers an event environment that is genuinely difficult to replicate elsewhere in London. These aren't studios designed to look like professional dance spaces: they are the working studios of one of the world's most celebrated ballet schools, which celebrates its centenary in 2026.
For conventional corporate use, the Linden Studio Theatre is particularly interesting. Retractable seating for 180 means it can operate as a proper presentation and performance environment before being opened into a large studio space. The professional lighting, audio, camera and streaming infrastructure also makes it suitable for technically demanding presentations, broadcasts and hybrid content.
The other studios provide substantial open spaces for rehearsals, filming, workshops and experiential events, while the Floral Street location places the venue directly in Covent Garden and opposite the Royal Opera House.

The Upper School sits in the heart of Covent Garden, directly opposite the Royal Opera House. The two institutions are physically connected at fourth-floor level by the distinctive Bridge of Aspiration spanning Floral Street.
