About

Tate Britain

Tate Britain is one of London's most distinctive cultural event venues, occupying its landmark Grade II listed gallery on Millbank beside the River Thames. Home to Tate's collection of British art from 1500 to the present day, the gallery combines grand neo-classical architecture, historic galleries and contemporary event facilities within easy reach of Westminster and Victoria.

Private events can incorporate exclusive access to artworks and exhibitions, with spaces ranging from Gallery 9 and the central Octagon to the Duveen Galleries, Grand Saloon and Manton Foyer. For conferences and presentations, the purpose-built Clore Auditorium provides fixed seating and dedicated AV facilities.

Why Hire

Tate Britain offers something that conventional London event venues cannot easily replicate: guests can dine, network and entertain within one of the country's major national galleries while experiencing significant works of British art. Gallery 9, the Octagon and Duveen Galleries provide particularly strong settings for events where the venue itself needs to form part of the guest experience.

There is also useful variety between the spaces. The Manton Foyer provides a more contemporary backdrop, the Grand Saloon works for smaller dinners and receptions, while the Clore Auditorium makes Tate Britain viable for daytime conferences, screenings and presentations rather than solely evening hospitality.

Tate's event operation also supports private exhibition and collection viewing, allowing organisers to build cultural experiences into dinners, receptions and corporate events. Profits generated through Tate Events are returned to Tate in support of its work.
