Jackie Boughton Steps Into New Barbican Consultancy Role

After more than a decade helping shape one of London's most recognised event venues, Jackie Boughton will step back from her full-time role as Director of Commercial at the Barbican this September.
Rather than leaving the organisation, Jackie will continue supporting the Barbican as Executive Consultant, Innovation and Growth, working alongside the senior leadership team on business events, client engagement, market insight, advocacy and future commercial development.
Jackie joined the Barbican in 2014 as Head of Business Events before progressing to Director of Commercial, where she has played a significant role in growing the venue's commercial operation and strengthening its position within the UK's meetings and events industry. During her time at the Barbican, the commercial team has helped generate more than £80 million in revenue across business events, hospitality and wider commercial activities.
The move represents a new chapter rather than a farewell. By taking on a consultancy position, Jackie will remain closely involved in shaping the Barbican's future strategy while continuing to represent the venue across the business events sector.
For many event professionals, Jackie has become one of the most respected and familiar faces within the industry, known for her collaborative approach and long-standing support of clients, agencies and industry partners.
We wish Jackie every success in her new role and look forward to seeing the continued impact she makes, both at the Barbican and across the wider events industry.
