Union Chapel Strengthens Leadership Team Ahead of Landmark 150th Anniversary

One of London's most distinctive event venues is preparing for its next chapter with the appointment of two experienced industry professionals as Union Chapel looks ahead to its 150th anniversary.
The Grade I-listed venue in Islington has welcomed Lesley Saville to the Board of Union Chapel Directions, while Lara Coker has been appointed as Events & Venue Operations Manager. The appointments come as the venue continues to experience growing demand across both live entertainment and private events.
Lara joins Union Chapel after nine years at Bush Hall, bringing extensive experience in venue operations, event delivery and artist liaison. She will oversee the day-to-day operation of the venue's busy events programme, supporting organisers, promoters and clients across a diverse calendar of live performances and corporate events. Meanwhile, Lesley Saville adds significant commercial and strategic experience to the Board as the organisation prepares for future growth.
Renowned for its exceptional acoustics and striking Gothic Revival architecture, Union Chapel hosts around 250 events each year, welcoming music concerts, conferences, award ceremonies, product launches, film screenings, podcast recordings and corporate events within one of London's most unique event spaces.
The appointments reflect the venue's continued investment in its leadership team as demand grows for characterful venues that combine heritage with modern event delivery. As Union Chapel approaches its 150th anniversary, the strengthened management team is expected to help shape the venue's future while maintaining the unique atmosphere that has made it one of London's most recognisable event destinations.
