Hotel Endsleigh
Hotel Endsleigh is an elegant country house hotel set within more than 100 acres of gardens, woodland and grounds overlooking the River Tamar near Tavistock. Originally created as a private retreat for the Duke and Duchess of Bedford, the historic house is now part of The Polizzi Collection and offers an intimate and highly distinctive setting for weddings, private celebrations, corporate retreats and away days.
Alongside its 21 individually designed bedrooms and suites, Hotel Endsleigh offers private dining rooms, the Stable for larger events and extensive gardens for outdoor entertaining. Exclusive-use weekends allow groups to take over the hotel, creating a particularly strong option for residential celebrations, leadership retreats and intimate corporate gatherings.
Event Spaces
The Stable
The largest dedicated event space at Hotel Endsleigh, the Stable provides a characterful setting separate from the main house for conferences, dinners, parties and celebrations. It can accommodate 100 guests theatre style, 80 for dinner or 140 for dancing, making it the hotel's principal space for larger private and corporate events.
Duchess Lounge
Decorated with original hand-painted wallpaper, the Duchess Lounge provides an intimate and elegant setting within the main house. Available for private dinners for up to 16 guests, it is particularly suited to executive dinners, smaller celebrations and private entertaining.
Parterre
The landscaped Parterre provides an impressive outdoor setting overlooking Endsleigh's historic gardens. It is licensed for civil ceremonies and works particularly well for outdoor celebrations and receptions that make the surrounding landscape part of the event.
Shell House
Hidden within the gardens, the Shell House is one of Endsleigh's most unusual spaces, with interiors decorated in shells, coral and other maritime details. Licensed for civil ceremonies, it provides an atmospheric setting for intimate weddings and special occasions.
Main House
The ground-floor rooms of the main house can be incorporated into private events and are licensed for civil ceremonies. For exclusive-use events, these interconnected lounges and dining areas allow guests to use the property much like a private country house.
Gardens & Croquet Lawn
The extensive grounds provide additional possibilities for receptions, outdoor dining, team activities and marquee events. The croquet lawn can accommodate marquee receptions for larger celebrations, extending the hotel's capacity beyond its permanent indoor spaces.
