The Mole Resort
The Mole Resort is a substantial countryside resort and events destination set within 125 acres of North Devon countryside at Chittlehamholt, near Umberleigh. Combining a historic Manor House with contemporary eco-friendly lodges, extensive leisure facilities and dedicated event spaces, it is particularly well suited to residential conferences, corporate retreats, team-building programmes and exclusive-use events.
The resort offers more than 90 bedrooms across the Manor House and lodges, three principal function rooms and smaller meeting and private dining spaces. Corporate groups can combine meetings with more than 40 onsite activities, including archery, axe throwing, tennis, disc golf, foot golf, yoga and countryside experiences.

The Mole Resort combines dedicated conference facilities with the infrastructure of a full countryside resort. Meeting packages include private meeting space, high-speed WiFi, screens or projectors, flipcharts, stationery, refreshments, seasonal catering and support from an onsite event coordinator. Enhanced AV, professional lighting, streaming facilities and technical support can also be arranged.
Corporate groups have access to extensive leisure and team-building facilities including an indoor swimming pool, sauna, gym, tennis courts, yoga, archery, axe throwing, disc golf, foot golf, countryside walks and organised activities such as duck herding. The Mole Resort offers something quite different from a conventional North Devon conference hotel. The combination of meeting facilities, accommodation and 125 acres of countryside means organisers can build an entire residential programme around the venue rather than simply booking a meeting room and bedrooms.
The Valley Suite and Dartmoor spaces provide capacity for larger conferences and dinners, while the Exmoor Room, Morning Room and Private Dining Room support breakouts, leadership sessions and smaller meetings. The ability to move between formal meeting rooms, outdoor spaces and activities is particularly valuable for retreats and team events.
The resort is strongest for programmes where the time outside the meeting room matters as much as the conference itself. The Mole Resort is located in Chittlehamholt, near Umberleigh in North Devon, surrounded by countryside and within reach of Exmoor and the North Devon coast.
The resort states that Umberleigh railway station is approximately 25 minutes away, Barnstaple around 30 minutes and Tiverton around 40 minutes. For groups travelling by car there are more than 100 complimentary parking spaces, including EV charging, and coach parking can also be accommodated.
