Harrogate Convention Centre to Remain Open During £9.4 Million Redevelopment

Harrogate Convention Centre to Remain Open During £9.4 Million Redevelopment

Harrogate Convention Centre has begun a major £9.4 million redevelopment programme that will modernise its facilities while remaining fully operational for conferences, exhibitions and events throughout the project.

The phased investment will focus on upgrading event spaces, increasing breakout capacity, improving accessibility and delivering a range of sustainability enhancements. By carrying out the work in carefully planned stages, the venue will continue to welcome organisers and delegates while the improvements are completed.

The redevelopment forms part of North Yorkshire Council's long-term commitment to strengthening Harrogate's position as one of the UK's leading conference destinations. Rather than pursuing a large-scale redevelopment that would have required significant closures, the phased approach allows the venue to continue hosting events with minimal disruption.

For event organisers, the investment reflects the changing expectations of the meetings and events industry. Flexible breakout spaces, improved accessibility and demonstrable sustainability credentials are becoming increasingly important when selecting venues, and the redevelopment is designed to meet those evolving requirements.

Harrogate Convention Centre has long been a popular destination for national conferences, exhibitions and association events, and this latest investment ensures it continues to compete with other major UK conference venues while providing an enhanced experience for delegates and organisers alike.

Event organisers considering Harrogate for future conferences can continue to book the venue with confidence as the redevelopment progresses.
