About
The Tythe Barn
Tythe is an award-winning, family-owned events venue set on a working farm near Bicester in Oxfordshire. Owned by the same family for more than 500 years, the estate combines a restored 14th-century Thatched Barn, contemporary meeting spaces, landscaped gardens and a 17th-century farmhouse with onsite accommodation.
Although particularly well known as a wedding venue, Tythe has developed a substantial corporate offering for meetings, conferences, company retreats, workshops, private dinners, product launches, team building and Christmas parties. The entire estate can be hired exclusively, allowing the different barns, farmhouse and outdoor areas to be combined for multi-part events.
Event Spaces
The Thatched Barn
The centrepiece of Tythe is a restored 14th-century thatched barn offering approximately 2,500 sq ft of flexible event space. Original beams and stonework are combined with contemporary event infrastructure including a Bose sound system, large electronic projector, high-speed internet and a fully stocked 12-foot bar.
The barn works for conferences, presentations, workshops, dinners, receptions, weddings, launches and parties.

The Cowshed
A contemporary converted barn with timber beams, floor-to-ceiling glazing and views across the gardens. The Cowshed can operate independently or alongside the Thatched Barn and is particularly suited to meetings, workshops, breakout sessions, dinners and receptions.
It includes a projector, relaxed fireside seating and a built-in pizza oven.

The Hovel
Adjoining the Cowshed, the Hovel provides a smaller meeting and breakout environment overlooking the gardens.

The Nook
A detached barn set within its own private courtyard. The Nook contains two individually designed rooms which can operate independently or together.
It is designed for smaller meetings, lunches, presentations and creative sessions and includes its own kitchenette, bathroom facilities and a fold-down double bed.

The Farmhouse
Tythe's restored 17th-century Farmhouse can operate as a standalone retreat, meeting and entertaining venue.
The large kitchen and dining room accommodates up to 30 guests, supported by the Lounge and Library as breakout spaces. Strong WiFi and large-screen televisions provide practical meeting facilities, while the house also offers seven ensuite bedrooms, a hot tub and tennis court.

The landscaped gardens and surrounding countryside provide substantial outdoor space for team building, receptions, outdoor dining and corporate activities.
Outdoor event possibilities include the Walled Garden, Farmhouse Garden, Orchard and Silver Birch Avenue, with licensed ceremony areas approved for up to 250 people.

Tythe combines historic character with modern corporate-event facilities. The main spaces offer high-speed internet, projection, sound systems and flexible furniture, while multiple rooms allow conferences and retreats to incorporate dedicated breakout areas.
Food is provided by Absolute Taste, with seasonal menus available for meetings, dinners, parties and corporate events. The venue is available for exclusive hire, giving organisers considerable freedom to use the estate as a complete event environment.

Why Hire
Tythe offers a very different proposition from a conventional conference hotel. The estate has been designed around bringing people together in a relaxed and creative environment, making it particularly strong for company retreats, strategy days, leadership meetings and events where interaction between delegates is important.
Its collection of interconnected spaces also provides genuine flexibility. A presentation can take place in the Thatched Barn, workshops can move into the Cowshed, Hovel or Nook, and delegates can then use the gardens or Farmhouse for dining and networking.
For residential events, the Farmhouse provides onsite accommodation for 14 guests across seven ensuite double bedrooms, with a further two guests accommodated in the Shepherd's Hut.

Tythe is located at Charbridge Lane, Launton, Bicester, Oxfordshire OX26 4SR, on the Oxfordshire edge of the Cotswolds.
The venue is approximately five minutes from M40 Junction 9 and around ten minutes from Bicester Village station. Two mainline railway stations are within a short drive, while onsite parking is available for approximately 75 cars.
